The Afro-Latineers Live in Stuyvesant Square Park

The Afro-Latineers return to Stuyvesant Square Park on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 2 to 4 PM for a free outdoor Hispanic Heritage Month performance presented by the Stuyvesant Park Neighborhood Association. Led by percussionist Paul "Sabor" Rivera, the multicultural ensemble plays a blend of Afrobeat, salsa, Latin jazz and American jazz standards, drawing on Fela Kuti, Mongo Santamaría and Stevie Wonder. It is an easy, low-key Saturday afternoon in one of Manhattan's prettiest small parks: bring a blanket, sit under the trees on the Rutherford Place side and stay for a set or two. Admission is free and open to all ages, and no ticket is required.

STORYfest with Reese's Book Club

KPop Demon Hunters Free Screening + Q&A

SVA Theatre in Chelsea screens Netflix's Oscar-winning animated hit KPop Demon Hunters for free on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 2 PM, followed by a Q&A with production designer Dave Bleich (SVA BFA 1992 Illustration), moderated by current SVA student Matt Leung. The feature is preceded by the NYC premiere of the animated short First Haircut by Disney·Pixar artist Ivo Kos. The screening is part of After School Special, SVA's annual alumni film and animation festival running September 23–27, 2026.
