COTE built its reputation on a simple, brilliant collision: a Korean barbecue table and an American dry-aged steakhouse, in one room, with a Michelin star to show for it. COTE 550 Madison, which opened in 2026, brings that format to the ground floor of 550 Madison — the landmark former Sony and AT&T tower whose public garden and arcade were reopened as part of the building's redesign. The draw is the same as the original Flatiron restaurant: cuts grilled at the table over smokeless burners, banchan arriving alongside, and a wine and Champagne list far more serious than the phrase "Korean steakhouse" implies. What is different here is the address. This is Midtown East, a few blocks from Grand Central and the Museum of Modern Art, so it works as a dinner after a Midtown afternoon or a long, unhurried business lunch in a part of town that has too few restaurants of this level.
