The P. Diddy inspired group, Diddy-Dirty Money, has apparently hit a snag – as group member Kalenna Harper has apparently called it quits — so that she can focus  on launching her solo career.

The 29 year-old singer/songwriter that is 1/3 of the Diddy-Dirty Money group, Kalenna, is now looking to focus her energies on her career as a solo artist. Although the singer emerged on the scene as part of the Dirty Money squad, which won for Best Group at the 2011 BET Awards, Kalena says the group is no longer her concern:

“As of now, Kalenna is solely focusing on her solo career and that is all that concerns her at the moment,” her rep tells TheYBF.com. “Dirty Money is a hind thought and doesn’t seem to be in any future plans.”

Kalenna is now set to release “Got To Work,” her debut solo single and viral visual on 11/11/11. The songstress describes her music as “experimental harmonies over worldly tracks paired with lyrics from a diary tucked deeply into heart that has beat to and for so many.”

Sensing that her days as a reality TV fraud might be drawing to an end, ‘Basketball Wives’ cast member, Evelyn Lozada, suckered Lil Wayne into signing her to a six-figure book and film deal.

Never mind that Lozada has no prior experience writing books or developing films (we’re talking about syrup-swigging Lil Wayne here).

First up for release, The Wives Association. This is the book Evelyn mentioned she was working on a few months ago. The plan is to release the book and then develop it for the “Big Screen”.

The book series to be co-authored by novelist and former Law & Order: Criminal Intent writer Courtney Parker. The books will be loosely based on Lozada’s life, using the alter ego Eve Inez-Landon to fictionalize the true stories she has learned from years of dating professional athletes. “The stories that you hear—what goes on in these relationships, and just being in that circle—I decided to let everyone experience a piece of it for themselves by writing this series of juicy novels,” Lozada said.

“By partnering with Baby and Cash Money Content, we have the potential to turn these ‘novels’ into a full-fledged brand,” Lozada explains. “Everything Baby and CMC touches turns to gold, and our brands together will be magical.”

Ok so Yesterday rumors were running rampant that Rap artist Jim Jones was jumped by his I guess former manager and new Love & Hip Hop cast mate Yandy Smith’s boyfriend and co. Jim Jones finally tells his side in an exclusive from Miss Info:

Yesterday, rumors hit the net claiming that Jim Jones was jumped in Harlem while leaving the studio. He allegedly got into a verbal argument with a man who is said to be the boyfriend of Jim’s ex-manager, Yandy Smith. After the verbal argument, the fight turned sinister as Jim was chased and then robbed by a group of men that are believed to have been with the man who is alleged to be Yandy’s boyfriend. Breakfast Club radio host Angela Yee claims that insiders close to Jim feel that the attack was orchestrated by Yandy.
Miss Info caught up with Jimmy last night and he confirmed that he was the victim of a ‘botched robbery’.
I was in Harlem alone when three men stepped to me. Well, the first guy, I beat the sh*t out of him, then the second guy jumped in with a metal pipe. I was so amped up, I didn’t even feel him hitting me with it. I was still putting a beating on the first guy, but when the third guy pulled out a gun, I got out of there. I left. Anyone with a brain would do the same.
Jim told Info that he thought that they were after his jewelry and it was stupid of him to have his jewelry while out in Harlem alone. As for the rumors that the incident were related to another beef, he dismissed it and said it wasn’t worth addressing.

Pharrell Williams continues to add onto his extensive resume, as he has unveiled plans to release a book in the near future entitled “Places & Spaces I’ve Been.”

While details are still coming together, the music hitmaker has teamed with fashion designer Ambra Medda for his latest project.

The internet is abuzz over Bill Duke’s upcoming documentary “Dark Girls.”  This film explores deep seeded issues of colorism in the black community. Backstory:

“Dark Girls” takes a compelling look at the impact of colorism: a state of prejudice, conscious and unconscious, that causes both black people and white people to label as more beautiful or desirable or intelligent individuals with lighter shades of skin, particularly when it comes to black women. Few among people of color are unfamiliar with the saying: “If you are light, you are all right. If you are brown, you can stick around. If you are black, get back.” A writer in The Washington Post aptly described the phenomenon a few years ago as “the crazy aunt in the attic of racism.”

And it appears she may be getting crazier. Almost buried in the midst of the Oprah lovefest was the news that the huge protest generated last month by a Psychology Today article — purported to be a “scientific” examination of “Why Are Black Women Rated Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women but Black Men Are Rated Better Looking Than Other Men?” — resulted in the publication pulling the article from its Web site.

As important and necessary as this victory was, it provides small comfort when one considers that less than two years after Google executives apologized for a doctored picture, which gave Michelle Obama the facial features of an ape, after it showed up in a Google Images search. The offensive photo still remains available on the site for all to see.

I could do it every morning for the next ten years straight until I find something else to move on to. So if 
I’m used to taking a Vicodin when I wake up in the morning because I’m hungover from -drinking or taking pills…The bigger the crowd, the bigger my habit got.”

On going to rehab in 2005: “Every addict in rehab feels like everyone’s staring at them. With me? Everyone was staring at me. I could never be comfortable. There were people there that treated me normal. Then there were a bunch of f—ing idiots who aren’t even concentrating on their own sobriety because they’re so worried about mine. They’re stealing my hats, my books – it was chaos. Everything was drama in there. And at the time, I didn’t really want to get clean. Everybody else wanted me to. Several of the biggest stars in the NBA – including Kobe Bryant, Amar’e Stoudemire and Kevin Durant – are finalizing a 10-day barnstorming tour across four continents, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

As the 3½-month NBA lockout drags on, threatening to soon eliminate the entire first month of the regular season, the league’s most prominent players are scouring the globe for chances to earn income, market their brands and play the game.

The tour is set to start in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Oct. 30, and pushes onto London’s O2 Arena (Nov. 1 and 3); Macau, China (Nov. 5); and Melbourne, Australia (Nov. 8 and 9), sources said.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade , Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are also strong possibilities to participate, sources said.

The bigger the names, the bigger the paychecks for the six games, sources said. The top players will make “north of $1 million,” plus expenses, for the tour.

ESPN.com first reported plans for the tour.

Contracts for the tour are still being finalized and signed, sources said.

Most agents and players have waited to see what happens during this week’s labor discussions with a federal mediator in New York. Without significant progress in the negotiations, organizers are pushing forward with the trip.
